Hello, hello, hello!
My name is Lauren Byrne, I'm 18 years old and I reside in amongst the hills of the Scottish Highlands. In the past couple of years I have taken a particular interest in the culture of traditional music and have been working as a self-employed musician since November 2012 (I play the guitar, sing a little, and have dabbled in a few other instruments). I made the decision to pursue traditional music as a career during the 2013 Feisean Lochabair Ceilidh Trail in which I participated. So over the past year I've been gigging extensively in the Lochaber area mostly with my good friend/musical partner Liam on the accordion, but we usually recruit a few musical friends to join us. We're still working on a name for our little ensemble. We play a variety of different types of gigs which you can find out about on the contact/bookings page :)
AND FINALLY. I'm going to use this blog to keep an account of my musical experiences/gigs/anything interesting that's going on in that field for me at the moment. Okay, I suppose I'll just get on with it now, eh?
